If you're looking to capture email leads from SMS text messages then watch this video tutorial to learn exactly how to do it.

Integrating Call Loop with MailChimp

Step 1: Grab Your MailChimp API Key

First grab your MailChimp API key.

API Key
This is found in the MailChimp "Account > Extras > API Keys"

Then Create a New API Key or copy an existing API key.

Step 2: Integrate Your MailChimp Account

Go to your Call Loop Account > Integrations then paste in your MAilChimp API key in the field to connect your app. Then click save settings to connect your MailChimp account to Call Loop.

Creating Your MailChimp List Fields

Step 1: Select Your MailChimp List

Before creating your fields, first select the MailChimp list you want to connect with Call Loop. You can do this by going to Lists and selecting the list you want to work with.

Step 2: Create Your List Fields & Merge Tags

To create your custom fields for your list, click on Settings > List fields and *|MERGE|* tags while in your selected list.

Step 3: Check Your First & Last Name Tags

In order for Call Loop to pass over the first and last name fields, please make sure that your first and last name fields show correctly as FNAME and LNAME. If they show anything different, please change them or else Call Loop will not be able to add the names collected from texts to your list.

IMPORTANT: Your first and last name fields must be FNAME and LNAME in order for Call Loop to send over the names captured from SMS to your MailChimp list.

Step 4: Add a New Phone Field

Call Loop will also pass over the mobile phone number to your MailChimp list and in order for Call Loop to do this, you'll need to create a new field.

To do this just click the Add a Field button on this same page.

then select Phone.

Then change the title from Untitled to Phone and the MMERGE# field to MPHONE. And finally, change the Phone format as (###) ###-####.

IMPORTANT: Your phone number field must be MPHONE in order for Call Loop to send over the mobile phone number captured from SMS to your MailChimp list.

Setting Up Your Call Loop Group

Step 1: Create a Group

The first step is to create a group in Call Loop. You won't need to select Integration for using text-to-join. Just give your group a title and press Create Group.

Step 2: Create an Immediate Follow-up (auto-reply)

You will need to create an immediate followup. This immediate message will be delivered to your contact right after they join your group.

On the 2nd step, you will select SMS and create your message which may ask for the field like email address.

"Thanks for registering. To confirm, please reply with your email address."

Plus, you can even segment your leads by adding them to a MailChimp group!

Finally, turn your followup ON.

Step 3: Purchase Your Keyword

You will need to secure your keyword in order for people to start texting in to join. To see if your keyword is available, head over to the Keywords page.

Search For Your Keyword.

Start your search by putting in a word that represents your business, organization, or reason for the keyword.

If it's not available, our system will alert you. This means that someone other Call Loop customer already possesses this keyword.

Purchase Your Keyword.

If your keyword is available, click the link to purchase your keyword. From here, if you have your credit card on file, you can use this or enter in a new credit card to purchase this keyword on a monthly or yearly basis.

Step 4: Connect Your Keyword to Your Group

After you have purchased your keyword, you can now connect it to one of your Groups.

Now, when someone texts in your keyword to the phone number 38470, they will be added to your group.

Congratulations! You keyword is now active!

Step 5: Test Your Keyword

To test, send a text message to the phone number 38470 and the message should be your keyword. It is not case-sensitive.

Here's an example on how to send in your text message...
